That first night, Jack didn't want to go to bed, but wanted to sit at his desk and keep "working". We went in to put him to bed well past his bedtime and he was sitting in his chair, his eyes almost closed, with scissors in hand cutting sticky notes to pieces.
The next morning I noticed his pencil holder was FILLED with pink sticky notes all rolled up into little tubes. "What are these?" I asked him. Then it dawned on me...John, as a general contractor, has lots of rolled up house plans for his projects stored in our office. Jack was trying to create his own stack of plans. "Are these plans like Daddy's?" I asked. "Yes, but they're different" Jack responded.
Every morning since he has had the desk, Jack wakes up and tells me he "has to go to his office to get some work done." I'm thinking I might be able to turn the taxes over to him this year!
